It’s been a hot summer this year, unusually hot! As summer vacations are on and schools are closed. Our churches held a 2 day Vocational Bible Study. Children enjoy this time of learning, fellowship, dance, music and food.
Children are a precious gift from God and the future of every community. Yet a large number of tribal and underprivileged children face challenges such as poverty, limited educational opportunities, and a lack of positive guidance. In such circumstances, Vocational Bible Study (VBS) becomes a powerful instrument of transformation, bringing spiritual nourishment, educational enrichment, and hope for a brighter future.
Vocational Bible School provides a unique environment where children can grow in their understanding of God’s love and life values. Through Bible lessons, worship, prayer, storytelling, songs, games, and creative activities, children are introduced to the timeless truths of God’s Word in a joyful and engaging manner.
The spiritual impact of VBS is profound. Children learn that they are created in the image of God, deeply loved by Him, and valuable in His sight. They discover the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and are encouraged to develop faith, obedience, kindness, honesty, and compassion. These biblical principles help shape their character and guide their decisions as they grow.
At the same time, VBS contributes significantly to the educational development of children. They are encouraged to read, memorise Bible verses, music, action songs and vocational activities, children strengthen their communication skills, creativity, confidence, and ability to work with others. Learning takes place in an atmosphere of encouragement and joy, making education both meaningful and enjoyable.
For tribal children especially, VBS serves as a bridge to new opportunities. It provides a safe and welcoming space where they can learn, explore their talents, and develop a sense of purpose. Many children who attend VBS gain confidence to pursue their education and become positive influences within their families and communities. We had arranged for food, snacks and one meal, pastor’s family did the entire meal preparation. It was so good.
The impact of VBS often extends beyond the children themselves. Parents and guardians witness positive changes in behavior, attitudes, and values. Children return home with songs of praise, Bible verses in their hearts, and lessons that inspire respect, responsibility, and service to others. In this way, VBS becomes a blessing not only to individual children but also to entire families and communities.
The ministry of Vocational Bible School reflects the heart of Christ, who welcomed children and taught that the Kingdom of God belongs to them. By investing in the spiritual and educational growth of tribal and underprivileged children, the Church participates in God’s mission of bringing hope, transformation, and abundant life to future generations.
As we continue to serve these young lives, let us remain committed to sowing seeds of faith, knowledge, and love. Through God’s grace, the lessons learned at VBS today can shape faithful disciples, responsible citizens, and future leaders who will positively impact their communities for years to come.
