There are few diseases that bring as much physical pain and emotional suffering as leprosy. Although modern medicine has made treatment possible, many people who have been affected by leprosy continue to live with permanent disabilities, painful wounds, and lifelong challenges. The disease damages the nerves, causing a loss of sensation in the hands and feet. Without realizing it, many injure themselves repeatedly, resulting in severe infections, deformities, and difficulty carrying out even the simplest daily tasks.

Beyond the physical suffering lies an even deeper pain. Many residents of the leprosy home have experienced rejection by their families and communities. They know what it feels like to be forgotten, isolated, and treated as outcasts. Yet each one of them is precious in the sight of God and worthy of love, dignity, and compassion.

Because of your faithful prayers and generous support, we are able to continue caring for the residents of this leprosy home. Your partnership helps provide food and medical assistance. Just as importantly, it reminds them that they are not forgotten and that they are deeply loved.

When we are unable to visit the home personally, we are so grateful for the dedication of Pastor Amal Roy who faithfully looks after the residents on our behalf. With genuine compassion and commitment, Pastor Amal ensures that their daily needs are met, offers encouragement, and provides consistent care. This faithful presence gives us great peace, knowing that the residents continue to receive the attention, love, and support they deserve even in our absence. Pastor Amal Roy also pastors a church in his area, he is a good man and is diligent in his service to God.

We are able to support seven widows from his church with groceries every month, they lost their husbands to either malaria or tuberculosis which are very common diseases in their state.

Whenever we are able to visit, it is a deeply moving experience. We spend time listening to their stories, praying with them, sharing God’s Word, and reminding them that Jesus has never forgotten them. In a world that has often turned away from them, the love of Christ shines brightly through simple acts of kindness and care.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 41:1, “Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.” We are continually reminded that serving those who are suffering is a privilege and a reflection of Christ’s own compassionate heart.
