Our History in the Philippines:

The work in the Philippines was begun in 1969. The Rev. Harold Jones and his wife, Sandra, were the first missionaries to the Philippines. They served from 1969-1975. The work on the Island of Palawan was opened in 1972. The Rev. Wayne King and his wife, Deborah, served in the Philippines from 1975-1980. The Rev. Ed Miles and his wife, Bessie, server as interim missionaries for six months during 1977, while the Kings were home on sick leave. The Rev. Fred Baker and his wife, Linda, went to the Philippines in 1978 and served until June 1991. Fred and Wayne worked together in setting up the Palawan Bible Institute in 1979. The Rev. Charles Barnard and his wife, Jackie, went to the Philippines in 1982, but returned to the U.S. in October 1984, due to health problems. The Rev. Willem van der Plas and his wife, Lydia, served from March 1984 until October 1990. The Rev. Paul Grubbs and his wife, Teresa, served from October 1986 until April 1990. The work in the Philippines is presently under the direction of the Filipinos in cooperation with the Board of Foreign Missions (OFWB International, Inc.).
