Each camper had to pick their life-verse and memorize it and repeat it in front of the officer assigned at the registration booth before they could register. We have a total of 206 registered campers. During our Acquaintance Night, the Rev. Ludgerio Malinao delivered an inspirational message. On the first day of camp to energize the campers after our morning devotion, we conducted exercises. This is the most different and unique camp among all in the past. Rev. Ludgerio Malinao and Rev. June Buscano lectured about the theme of the day “Humility Conquers Pride”. On the second day, the Rev. Romeo Galleto, Jr. lectured about our theme of the day “Courage Conquers Fear” and in the afternoon each group of the campers choreographed their own dance presentation for the evening. The Rev. Raul Galfo shared a very inspiring message and after that full armor presentation happened and each group did their best and they all had a great performance, followed by a comical skit presentation which made our night full of laughter.
On the last day of camp, we experienced the most challenging part of the camp. It measured our unity, strength, and courage over the challenges that the campers face. Everyone emerged victorious, but sadly we also had to say our goodbyes and part ways with each other for the mean time until the National Camp occurs. We departed with all the happy memories and very inspiring messages and challenges that we learned during the 4-day camp. Hopefully when we all return to our respective churches all the things we have learned will remain with us. May we remember that we are “More than Conquerors”!
This successful camp wouldn’t be possible without the guidance of our Almighty Father. Glory will always be to Him. Through the help financially and support of our Board of Trustees, pastors, and church workers, young professionals, and through prayers, we were able to have a productive and high quality of activities for the campers.
Vacation Bible School
The two days of Vacation Bible School in the First Free Will Baptist Church-Gawid, Caruray, San Vicente, Palawan, Philippines, was held last May 14–15, 2019. Our theme was “Victories in Trusting God.” The teacher, Sister Hannah Borja Mariano was assisted by Luke D. Borja, Jessa Rose A. Rosauro, Venzie Jane F. De Luna, Christine Joy D. Demate, Efrata D. Borja and Jaivy D. Illosorio. They actively helped Sister Hannah in teaching the children, performing of the parlor games, and giving serving snacks.
The story telling was about the life of David who defeated Goliath, Gideon’s victory and Samson’s victory over the Philistines. The Vacation Bible School ended with the graduation ceremony and devotional remarks by the Rev. Bernardo M. Borja, the local church pastor. The 67 children were overjoyed and felt very blessed. Let us give our praises and thanks to the Lord for all the success and blessings!
There was another two days of Vacation Bible School May 20–21, 2019, held at an outreach location in Lower Decala. Brother Luke D. Borja taught the 30 children who attended. The kids were very excited about the Bible stories, games and for their prizes for the parlor games. They were wishing that the Vacation Bible School next year would last more days. They enjoyed this time together. To God be all the Glory!
